Total Roof Restoration
A total roof restoration involves cleaning, repairing, and repainting a roof. It’s a cheaper alternative to roof replacement and is designed to extend the lifespan of your roof by up to 20 years. If your roof requires a little more than a spot repair or the odd tile replaced, a total roof restoration may be what’s needed.
How do you know if your home needs a total roof restoration?
For complete roof restorations, we generally look at the age of the home, and how long ago the roof was restored. Most roofs that have gone ten years or more without restoring, will require a restoration. If you’re not sure the last time your roof was maintained, a faded appearance or broken tiles found on the ground are usually good indicators. A qualified roofing contractor will be able to assess your roof and offer some honest feedback on whether your roof needs retiling, repairing, a total roof restoration, or nothing at all.

Our full roof restorations process
- Roof assessment
A thorough assessment of your roof will give a modern roof restoration contractor a good idea of any signs of damage. This could include cracked/broken tiles, missing roof shingles, failed roof sealants or signs of fungus. Signs of leakage will also be checked, as a leaky roof can lead to structural damage.
- High pressured cleaning
Using a high-pressure washer, we blast away decades worth of debris from your roof tiles. This alone can reinvigorate your roof, as a lot of roofs appear dirty or faded simply due to an accumulated build-up of dirt, leaves and insects. When combined with a fresh lick of paint, an old, tired looking roof instantly looks brand new again. It’s highly recommended you enlist the help of a professional to do this, as attempting gurneying yourself can result in serious injury.
- Roof repairs
After your roof has been washed, your modern roof restoration contractor will start to conduct some repairs. All broken tiles, ridge caps and barge caps will be replaced, and damaged areas amended with metal sheets and matching tiles. A roofer may also re-bed and re-point your roof to ensure a neat, long lasting finish.
- Roof painting
After your full roof restorations contractor has cleaned and repaired your roof, they’ll paint your roof with a series of protectant paint. This will include one coat of fungal treatment, a coat of high builder primer paint, two coats of roof membrane and a final application of clear protectant.
